BOB MABENA BIOGRAPHY

Bob Mabena’s full name is Kgomotso Bob Mabena. He was born in the South African settlement of Atteridgeville, Pretoria, Gauteng.

Bob was a well-known radio and television personality who hosted shows on stations such as Khaya FM, Metro FM POWER 98.7, and Highveld Stereo.

The late South African broadcaster began his career in 1989, in the Republic of Bophuthatswana, with Radio Bop, which is no longer in operation.

Later, he was hired by Koos Radebe, the Radio Metro station manager, to anchor on Metro FM, a national radio station. He spent some time in the North West, where he worked as a TV host before being hired by Koos Radebe.

He became ill at the age of 48 and was later diagnosed with a potentially fatal condition; he was then advised to exercise frequently and follow a strict diet.

He then said that he preferred going to the theater and polo matches to going to the gym.

Bob Mabena died in a hospital in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa on the afternoon of August 10, 2020. The leading cause of death was discovered to be cardiac arrest. His cause of death was later confirmed by Power FM.

This past Thursday, a memorial service was conducted for him at the Power FM offices, attended by his coworkers and several family members.
